The Central Knowledge Business
Centre (CKBC) is an exclusive centre within Indlawnet
which undertakes legal and regulatory functions expected of
the client legal teams and further ensure compliance with
systems and processes that are to be carried out.
The CKBC Unit undertakes the following activities
for clients, viz.-
- perform contract administration functions, audit contracts;
- ensure compliance with regulatory laws;
- support ad-hoc tasks in response to specific customer
requirements.
- contract pursuit, interpretation, review and administration
of CKBC
- finalizing project definition, executing process documentation
- ensure seamless migration to CKBC from the different
offices of Client.
- work closely with the migration team in owning the
documenting of process maps and metrics
- build training curriculum and ensure that team members
have the necessary up-front tools and education to be
successful at their function
- work with core teams in defining process, measurement
and transparent workflows to be able to manage the activity
in an efficient manner
- provide domain expertise in the contracts & proposals
process
- read customer requests for proposal and complete checklists
with a high degree of accuracy
- audit customer-facing web pages for compliance with
existing contracts
- author proposals based on standard terms plus interpret/complete
customer forms based on precedents
- quickly assess incoming ad-hoc tasks, articulate questions
and improvement suggestions, then carry out tasks with
a high degree of execution success
- read existing contracts to answer business questions
for further review by foreign-based contracts and legal
staff
- administer sales contracts and proposals functions
supporting business
- provide trained staff having ability to use the internet
to research American/UK case law and the writing of legal
memoranda, which will highlight the legal issues.
- provide the staff with in depth training on the use
of Indlaw, West Law, Lexis-Nexis and other electronic
databases.
- provide staff with knowledge of foreign legal systems
and selectively trained in the use of UK/ American legal
words, phrases and culture.
